The clinical trial facilities within Parexel needed to upgrade their processes from paper-based systems to digital/RFID systems that included new software and upgraded hardware.

After extensive research into existing processes, my team created myriad user flows, swim lanes, etc. to be better equipped so that, once on site in Baltimore, we could shadow and assess procedures, capabilities, experiences of staff. Each day we created wireframes and prototypes and worked with the facility teams to ensure that we understood what the users needed.

In less than two weeks, we focused on a host of changes, from new software (setup, monitoring, reporting) to hardware including lab equipment, scanners, RFID bracelets, etc. And now, the software and hardware are now used in all Parexel clinical trial facilities (Baltimore, Los Angeles, Berlin, and London) with marked increases in performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
